Art Case

Mildura Arts Centre Collection

What is Art Case?
Art Case is a travelling exhibition of artworks selected from the Mildura Arts Centre Collection. It provides a practical opportunity for students and their teachers, as well as the broader community, to engage with authentic artworks in an exhibition located within their school or learning environment.

Artists and artworks
Art Case artworks have been selected on the basis of them being by contemporary artists living in, or having had studio practices within the Sunraysia area. These artists are James Baxter, Christine Fox, Piero Clemente Garreffa, Rhae Kendrigan, Dimitri Nickas and Frank Zappia.

The artworks explore themes of identity, community, portraiture, human behaviour, mythology, history and social issues. Students are encouraged to add to the display and emphasise themes by including a selection of their own original artworks that enhance the class’s curatorial vision for their exhibition.
